So with the sun in the sky, a few friends and myself figured it would be a great day to hit up whistler… New snow, blue skies, SHOULD be a good day.

I'm actually impressed at how lacking their coverage is.

So instead, we decided we should ride Burnaby Mountain instead.

That's right. Top to bottom.

We parked the car at Hastings and Duthie around 5:00 pm. Just enough light to make sure we didn't get lost coming down the mountain.

The whole idea was to say that we actually left whistler to go ski bby mountain. Ridiculous, we know.

We got a ride up from a friend who was on his way home… To res we go.

After a rip down from the res parking lot…

… and a hop across the street(s)

We ended up on the trans canada trail. My excuse for lack of pictures was: "It was too dark".

So here's the money shot of myself skiing the median with the bus driving by… That's right, the 135.

The sad part is, I hit less rocks skiing SFU (0) then I did at Whistler (a couple).

I'm sure you could actually get some good turns after a good dump like tonight.

So for those of you at SFU complaining… GO RIDING!

The end.

hahaha - sweet!

We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.

Yeah… We pulled out the rock skis for this rip, but concluded they weren't necessary.

Looks like no class or work today!

I don't see a pack. F*CK I would never go into uncontrolled areas without all the proper precautions. How many pits did you dig? If it's less than 7, I'm not your friend any more!

We tried to ski the mellow slopes, but we did ski by some tobogganers that were in some pretty dangerous terrain traps though. They already let off some size 2 slides earlier in the day…

I drove up SFU on Saturday, and I'm stoked to see you confirmed my suspicions that SFU has better skiing than Whistler right now.

I think hitting the road gives new meaning to rock skis / board.

Nice work guys! This shows you can always have fun on skis wherever you are :)

There is some great skiing out there in safe terrain if you know where to look.

Peaches-N-Cream did an epic drive home from California to find his happy spot on Saturday.
