I may be doing a Baker/Whistler trip
TR: Seymour gnar tour
Anyone up for heading up there again on Sunday?
Seymour if it's nice-ish and Hollyburn if it's snowing?

not sure about sunday but a tour tomo AM (Saturday) would be sweet as well.
hollyburn was off the hook today. my 79mm waist skis were sinking to at least knee depth … had to pretty much straightline all but the real steeps. skied out all the steeps …
Went up seymour today. Broke trail in the am. But it was shitty in my opinion. The pow. was knee deep, but it was only -1 and heavy and wet . Had to straight line everything. Not that much fun. But I did buy 0 to -4 wax, so maybe tomorrow will be better.
is it difficult to tour uphill like that?
I'ld be up for a morning tour tomorrow morning if anyone wants to go.

fer sure. 5 lbs of ski and boot on each leg … climbing 40 deg slopes … crotch tearing switchbacks … dont even try it unless you like pain
Nice shots. That brings back fond memories of hiking around up there.
giggler, pm'd you back.
As I mentioned to Giggs in pm, I'm fighting the beginnings of a cold/flu/whatever so I don't want to go too hard tomorrow. I'll probably go up to Hollyburn in the mid-morning, pending how I feel. If anyone is interested in not starting too late, pm me your #s.

The wife and I were also up there on Thursday. We snowshoed up to the bc exit just after brocton and then hung a left a little down into a gully. Set up camp with a sweet snowcave. Friday we did some runs up on first pump, but it was low vis and high winds so we headed for home. Super fun 2 day trip overall. It was her first time bc snowcamping and bording and she had a blast. Now we are thinking about splitboards cause the snowshoes sucked after a foot+ of fresh overnight. Also looking at better/lighter stove, tent and sleeping bag options.
I'm a gearbox-bike nut.
Do it Evrac. Splitboards are pricy but worth it if you're at all serious about touring. Snowshoes blow in all the worst possible ways.
