amid throngs of slowshoers and in some really thick fog, we made our way to the first peak on seymour. after some beacon practice and digging a quick pit, the clouds started to open up a bit.

Lee shreds the Seymour gnar with ease:

Tyler pinning it first run on his new splitboard:

next we skinned a bit further out to explore some interesting un-tracked NE aspects. here we are waiting for a break in the clouds. you don't want to drop down here in poor viz … nasty big cliffs all around.

Tyler drops in:

contemplating line selection under a snow ghost, can't really go too wrong with freshy everywhere:

Lee finding the Seymour pow surprisingly good:

I had a hard time taking photos of Tyler as he moved so damn fast, so here's another shot of Lee rippin':

as we put our skins on and started the climb back up, the clouds opened up even more making for some cool lighting:

Lee putting in a gnarly ass skin track … yeah it's steep:

even snowboarders have to 2 plank it to get around the bc. Tyler doing awesome for his first time on 2 planks ever:

Lee putting in a brutal pace uphill, borderline death march I might say. these photos were excuses for rest breaks:

just as we got back on top of the ridge we were treated to some amazing sunset colors on the mountains to the east:

watching the sun set:

the view from first peak before we skied out in the twilight:

Great pics and TR. Thanks Giggler. What was the snow like up there? Was it crusty at all under the fresh snow?

on South wind-scoured aspects of first peak only about 10cm on top of the ice yesterday, so yes you could feel the crust. things would be better today of course.

but Lee managed to find where all the snow went ( http://bb.nsmb.com/showpost.php?p=1831474[HTML_REMOVED]postcount=4 )

still stoked from this tour … the opening in the weather was sick …

Amazing photos! I had no idea that Seymour looked like that. I've got some exploring to do.

That was gorgeous. I counted 28 people up there that I could see. Not a single person dropped into this bowl. Only us and 40cms of blower pow.

There are some really nice lines between Runner's Peak and Elsay. Just continue down into the bowl and head north to Canadian Pass, everything opens up from there.

Anyone up for heading up there again on Sunday?

Seymour if it's nice-ish and Hollyburn if it's snowing?
