Tomorrow: Whistler or Cypress

The wife and I are going to ski/board tomorrow. First day of the season. Probably a little bit of gear fiddling as she has a new board and I will be bringing out my new sticks.

The connundrum exists though, Whistler or Cypress?

Both have lots of snow from today/tonight.
Similar ticket price (considering Whistler early season pricing)
Obviously the quick drive to Cypress is nice.

I know W/B very well, I haven't skied Cypress in years and even though only a few times. Will Cypress likely be good tomorrow, good enough to give up a day at W/B?

We cannot decide so I leave it up to NSMB to make my life decisions.

I'll stay away from the US border tomorrow, Black Friday could be a bit of a gong show.

Go to Baker. Sumas border crossing shouldn't be bad at all.

Being an agoraphobic adrenaline junkie would be pretty convenient, because you could get your rush from just going to the store to get some milk instead of having to jump off a mountain or out of an airplane.

they also call me "balloon"

just did some weather forecast reading. Freezing levels will be 850m in Whistler and 1000m in Cypress.

Whistler it is.

Sunday is looking wicked for some local mountain touring though. Last snow on friday, Saturday to settle, sun and cold on Sunday.

Drive up tonight was pretty sketchy, leave early! Cypress could be good if you get there early.

Looking to ride the shore but don't know where to go?

Thanks for the advice, definitely the plan.

Unrelated but I need to hook up with you and Lee sometime this winter when you do one of your "not so sufferfest days"!!!

Cypress was good today. If the freezing level is rising then don't bother. Wasn't even busy either, got on the chair as soon as you wanted to get back on it.

Great first day

Why slag free swag?

ummm, as your doctor i recommend against riding with a scaphoid fracture.

No touring for me tomorrow, will be with my snowboarder wife- although she is interested in getting into touring now.

Maybe see you on the lift.

Local Mountains should be pretty good tomorrow if the snow I left to on Grouse kept up. Great day riding some "Grouse pow" ;)
