In my opinion, any board you buy should be from Prior. i just got a GS board from them and it is going to fucking rip. They are great guys with a very good product. I have heard good things about their splitboard but have never seen one. www.priorsnowboards.com

sorry but could someone please explain to me what these split boards are all about. as in, i know nothing at all about them.
They are snowboards that split down the middle. So you can turn then into a pair of treking skis by putting things called skins on the bottom of them (which basically turn them into cross country skis). That allows you to get around in the backcountry easier than just hiking or whatever.
so I here you guys talking about the time it takes to change the board around. what changes need to be made? how do the bindings work, what kind of boots are used, how it the board held together?
