Was thinking of checking out Paul Ridge or Metal Dome this weekend but not sure PR is high enough elevation for this cycle. Also forgot I don't have winter tires ont he car yet.

Haven't skied Metal Dome so don't really want to go there in a white out for the first time given hazards.

Too much rain to ride, will see if anyone needs a hand with trail work or I'll go for a trail run I guess.

^^^ Hah.

How's the snowline looking these days? Can't imagine November 10th is happening with the inbound pineapple. Was hoping to get some turns somewhere next weekend but don't fancy walking to 2000M for rain crust.

No dice. It's getting 50/50 on the top down to "maybe" base of Emerald. After that it's a slushfest mudslide. We need everything to drop 4-6C and things will start making sense. But the good news is, there was about 2m of snow up there before this pineapple came into play. From what ops have told me, the wet and warmth is just gluing it all to the hill as a pretty awesome base. So this is at least an optimistic perspective.

But my rule of thumb has always been, screw the opening day - 1.5m of base at Pig Alley is when I "consider" going up; 2m is a definite "ON".

still over 80cm base at pig alley already….as much as I wish it was 5 degrees colder, and I do, we're looking pretty good for beginning of November right now!

maybe half a meter up here some people are skiing, I still just been running the saw but it could be time to go for a hike!

edit : hill opens on the 25th which should be enough time to get some base

Ah opening day. The worst day to be a patroller, as all the over hyped dipshits huck themselves onto rocks and stumps just below the snow surface.

Quite a spectacle.

How very, very true.

We've got a mega warm/wet/subtropical front on us right now - it's a bit more than just the hoped for "wet shrink wrapping" system we saw last week. It's too warm. Hopefully it'll pass - but hey, if not? I've still yet to hang the MTBs

looks promising for the next week after. Hopefully everybody in the S2S corridor gets pounded. I can't wait to get some Hollyburn laps in.

One free early season day if you buy a 5 or 10 day card before the 21st.

Early season lasts until?
Bit of a dice roll for someone with a rigid two days off a wk and the long drive from van.
Assume the days on the card give some discount?
