Perhaps a stupid question, but have a few hours this afternoon and was hoping to do a quick skin up Seymour. Is this possible this year, given the low snow depth?
Cheers

Let us know how it goes please. I'd take old beater skins and skis for sure.
I hiked up this morning to first pump. if you stayed on the runs (which are not open) you would be fine.
the backcountry access is boney and icy

how long did it take you to hike up?
We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.

so walking up the ski run maybe an hour or less?

if your going to where we usually have a fire its probably an hour or a bit more with a pack full of wood.
last year we pushed a toboggan of wood up which was more fun on the way down after a few beers

I thought Id bump this just in case there were any updates.. tho I dont suspect much has changed.
Report from last week here: http://www.backcountrytalk.earnyourturns.com/vb/showthread.php?1398-2014-15-Coast-Mountain-Conditions[HTML_REMOVED]p=23293#post23293
Yeah that was the last report I could find. Just thought I'd see if there had been anything since… but I guess not much will have changed.
If anyone wants a ski road trip
APEX IS OFFERING A BLOWOUT RECIPROCAL DEAL TO SEASONS PASS HOLDERS OF THE FOLLOWING MOUNTAINS:
Mt. Washington
Cypress Mountain

This season has been very difficult for many resorts around BC due to the warm temps and lack of snow. Apex is very lucky in the sense that all of our terrain is North East facing and has been protected from the devastating sun exposure. While we don't have the fluffy beautiful powder we are used to, the spring-like conditions are still great and all of our terrain and lifts are up and running!
After many inquiries in regards to reciprocals, we have decided to extend a fantastic offer to all you season's pass holders out there whose home mountain has been forced to close early or not open at all. The offer is as follows:
Lift Tickets:
1 Day Lift- 25% off (regular)
2 Day Lift- 50% off
3 Day Lift- 50% off
4 Day Lift- 50% off
consecutive days only
Accommodation:
Apex Mountain Inn
20% off regular room rates
Apex Accommodations
25% off regular room rates
Minimum 2 night stay
Based on availability
Visitors must show their seasons pass or proof of at time of purchase and check-in.
We hope to see you all soon and remember to do your snow dance! The season is not over yet! SPREAD THE WORD!
