MEC pant sizing

Looking for a new touring softshell pant for next winter, I came across the MEC Fusion Pants. It's made of the shoeller fabric which works flawlessly in terms of breathability. The Pants I use mainly is made of that and I don't want to go for some hardshell, because good breathability is what I need.

Unfortunately I can't try them on, so my question goes out to those who are familiar with the sizing of MEC pants.
Normally I wear size 32 to 33. For touring I wear a pair of long john's underneath. Hence my focus is on size 32 or 34.

So what is the fit of MEC pants? Loose, snug or something in between?

I wear a medium MEC, and im pretty skinny, bout size 31 wasit (errr… lean and ferocious). Id say go with a Large. They tend to fit a bit snug.. I.e. if you wanna go for the sammy carlson look, go for XXXXXL

Are arcteryx sizes somewhat compareable to MEC's sizing?

I have one thin Arcteryx pant labeled with a 33" waist, which fits perfectly.
