Well the start of the season was a while ago up north, but this was the first full-on weekend of shredding for me! I got invited by my good friend jayric up to go on a trip to the monashee powdercat lodge near revy. And well, I would be stupid to turn that down, so I packed up the truck and headed down. It was worth the drive from PG to vernon…

The snow was deep, blower, and a ton of fun to ride. A huge thank you to Tom and Carolyn (sp?), the owners of the lodge for letting us crash up there! and big thanks to the monashee mulisha crew for dragging me along.

This is just the start…I have 4.5 months off to snowboard allll season after I graduate on dec 8! The stoke is high…

Nicely done. Sled lapping on a cat terrain is defintely the way to go.

Still looks pretty thin, eh?

Yeah having the roads punched in already made life easy. It was pretty good coverage…a few sticks here and there. And I was just a dumbass jumping off pillows and hitting a rock garden haha, that wasn't really representative of the coverage.

If you are out skiing/riding/sledding in the revy area, beware of surface hoar buried down about 60-80cm. It was still pretty reactive above treeline. We didn't see any naturals, but our pits gave hard results on it, but clean pops when it went. It should heal out in time though…

we killed jay's borrowed sled…so no more sledding. And there is no way I am buying one until I can get a new-ish one. Old sleds are such beater pieces of junk, there is always something going wrong haha

K. we can just make Lee proud and ski the 30km of FSR, then the 1000m of vert. If we are lucky and they are logging/mining exploration it could be plowed up to 25km.

damn interior flatlands

Put some tracks on the land cruiser! Or screw your down payment on a house and buy a sled instead. Or we could just go one of the other 183907594873598475 places in BC we don't need a snowmobile.

Think about the other 983907594873598475 places you can go with a snowmobile and the amount of extra turns you'll get when you take out the time required to slog thru all those long FSR approaches

Sleds for access are pretty cheap. It when your full on brapping thqat it starts to cost big bucks.

the sad reality is you will have so much fun sledding its hard not take a machine into the pow.

I got an old sled for access the year.

Price was right - free I just had to get it running.

A little tune up and it was good to go. Total cost, $20.00 and a six pack.

Problem is it is a piece of crap (1994 polaris 500 with fuel injection) Heavy, underpowered, etc. When I am out for "access" I can't keep it out of the pow, it is just too inviting. So far this year about 2hrs of riding and 6hrs of digging and I think I hate sledding.

there is quite a bit you can ski right off a plowed road around PG… but with a aled the options are endless.

I have sledded a few times now, and it is definitely a riot. My point is that I don't even want to bother screwing around with a shitty old sled. If I were to get into it, it would be full on with a good newer machine that I could trust.

I rode on a brand new polaris RMK something, and it changed my sledding experience. So I think I'll just wait til I have the cash to drop on a nice machine and get into it.

He would have it no other way!
