31cms in the past 48 hours at Apex and I am pretty sure it stayed cold. I think Smoke said something about skiing right to the cabin. You may have missed a good weekend there.

from today's report:

If you are a powder hound, then catch up on your chores, get that "honey-do" list looked after, and come skiing or riding after the next snowfall! Which we hope will be an early Xmas present.

And the good news: Lineups are non-existent!

can't get enough of that sodium benzoate…

you mean like last year when grouse "had" 3m yet I could see dirt on most of the runs from my house?

Seymour used to pay for the environment canada forecast, but now that seems to be gone. at least their #'s are usually somewhat accurate. When I was back in Van over the holidays, I had to laugh when I hear on the radio, "Cypress is reporting 1cm of fresh, grouse 15cm, seymour 1cm"

I know it can vary a bit from mountain to mountain, but I have a hard time believing that the middle and lowest one got that much more. Time to move the ruler away from the side of the lift shack, where all the snow piles up when it falls off. And learn the difference b/w cm and mm.

That's the problem with cities, they're refuges for the weak, the fish that didn't evolve.

I don't want to google this - sounds like a thing that NSMB will be better at.

On the way back to Prince George from a backcountry skitrip(www.davehenry.com in Valemount) last Sunday, I drove up the skihill road to the Purden lodge just for a lookabout. Barely made it up the road with 4WD studded tire hi-clearance pickup - Got to the base area about 7:30. There was so much fresh snow on the ground, I figured it hadn't even opened that weekend. Once back in town, found out that it had snowed most of Sunday, then Monday. Looking forward to a great weekend - a couple of feet of champagne, which happens there maybe once every 2 or 3 seasons. www.purden.com

FRESH POWDER FOR THE WEEKEND! Photo Taken Jan 29, 2016

It's continuing to snow heavily early this afternoon and the forecast is indicating that its not expected to stop! We should get at least up to 15 cm today (9 cm so far since 6 AM) and then again tomorrow!

For our Cypress Families - tonight is Family Pizza Night and we'll have the Fire Pits going in the plaza with smores packs available for $5.

Their web page says it is 0degC.

don't want to let facts get in the way of a marketing opportunity!
