It's been a couple years since I have skinned up Hollyburn.
Wondering how much snow to fill in the dead falls etc.
Anyone been up yet?

Anyone know if there is a map locating the cache's? Knowing that one got broken into maybe the info isn't made public. But knowing where one is if someone found themselves in trouble would be a big help.

From the article it sounds like routes to the caches are marked on trees.

I assume that when the NSR guy says “He probably wouldn’t have lasted the night.”, he means "if he hadn't found our cache".

I wonder if the various SAR groups in the S2S corridor, and out on the Coq, have seen a spike in backcountry skier incidents as touring had gone mainstream and there are now lots of people with the gear, but not necessarily the knowledge and skills, to do a relatively simple tour like Hollyburn.

I was up there couple times this week. Beauty conditions, cold and dry and lovely. Better right now than peak of the season some other years I'd say.

Just a few days ago it was a different story.
