G3 AT Binding
well i like the look of it , but they are going to have to do better than 5-10 din if they want more widespread acceptance .
i know 10 is more than enough for most folks , even if they don't believe it themselves , but unless you have at least 12 the new backcountry schoolers aren't going to buy in , and that seems to be the area of new market growth
SWEET! I guess I'm buying new bindings next season! I wonder how wide the brakes will be?
Interesting.
Nice dynafit compatibility. Heavy though.

Looks good.
The fact that you can take it apart is a plus, but at the same time it also means it could go off in the backcountry. More screws and adjustments ~= more space for malfunction. But I'm aware that they built it with that in mind and made it bombproof.
Anyway I'm excited about the reviews.
these look like they should really hit the spot for a couple people I know.
Just a speculative fiction. No cause for alarm.
I like the looks of those but like Skid said they are going to have to increase that din for the new emerging market.
They look nice and low to the ski though, I'm very curious to read some reviews.

They also want to use their own boots, which you can't with this system. You need the Dynafit compatible boots.

Off the top of my head I would say it needs more din [HTML_REMOVED] less weight
did the dynafit binding patents just expire?
did the dynafit binding patents just expire?
yes, last year.

not really a problem IMO cuz there are already lots of dynafit users out there and more Dynafit boots coming on line all the time .
BUT traditionaly a dynafit user wanted LIGHT weight except now even the BD factor is dynafit compatable which is probably the biggest heaviest stiffest AT boot out there
BUT then the G3 din range is not enough
So what was G3 thinking …that the buttons and whistles G3 have added which also added weight will entice dynafit users ?
I am skeptical on these bindings. Heavy (compared to the dynafit), awkward and I can't use my Endorphins in them.
It seems to me that these bindings will sooner or later get the same reputation as the g3 skins… lots of good bells and whistles, but just don[HTML_REMOVED]#8217;t work.
Hopefully I am proved wrong though. I think the back country ski binding world could use more competition.
Heavy compared to the dynafit? By 500 grams. Still lighter than anything else out there! I'm excited that a CANADIAN company is putting out what looks like a great backcountry binding. Boots are getting better and more are coming onto the market that are G3/Dynafit compatible. And if the DIN isn't enough for you lock the toe piece!
More competion should make things a little less expensive.
