Will you (the experienced skier/boarder) pay more (cause the Hill is losing $$) for less quality (wet cement) in the years to come.

A re-arrangement of financial priorities would advise "no".

Honestly man, I'll go if the snow is popcorn. It's so much better than icy conditions, you can actually ride it. But I'll be longing for the days of light, fluffy powder.

verb (used without object), coped, coping.
1.
to struggle or deal, especially on fairly even terms or with some degree of success (usually followed by with):
I will try to cope with his rudeness.
2.
to face and deal with responsibilities, problems, or difficulties, especially successfully or in a calm or adequate manner:
After his breakdown he couldn't cope any longer.

Not sure how that article demonstrated "coping".

haha … boy, did they ever get the facts wrong on the Grouse wind turbine.

When one person suffers from a delusion, it is called insanity.

When many people suffer from a delusion, it is called religion.

strictly a tourist attraction. Another way to get someone to pay $42 to go up the gondy. Smart on Grouse as skiing will be nil at some point.

It's a good point though, for a ski hill to reduce its emissions in order to protect its future.

Have you ever watched the billowing black smoke when they fire up the big diesels on Mt Bakers chairlifts?

Haven't done it but I'm almost 100% sure it's extra on top of the gondy fee to go up the windmill.

Very smart.
I did the grind with the kids on Saturday. Bone dry to the top. Waited 0 mins for the gondy download-the place was pretty dead.
We did the grind once this summer too… Waited a LOT longer!! Summer is when they make their $.

I've heard a rumour that Cypress will pull the plug on the season tomorrow. We'll see, I guess.

Will any of the local mountains offer up any sort of compensation for pass holders?

They have a "guarantee" of a minimum of 100 operating days. Each day they are under means 1% off on next year's purchase.
