Surrey snowmobile club used to maintain it. Looking pretty run down these days not sure they are using it anymore. A friend who has guided for Tyax Heli Skiing says very unstable snow pack in that zone. Something to do with it being a little further east a bit dryer and shallower snowpack.

You wouldnt want to sleep in there unless you really had to. You would be almost better off bringing a quailty winter tent and sleeping in that.
There are far better cabins in the duffey lake area that i would recommend over that…

It seemed usable when I was there, not the best but we don't need much. We have tents as well, figure it be a good spot for a food drop etc…

i wouldn't sleep in there. how are you getting up there? what's the rough plan? heli-bumping your gear then walking in?

Not 100% sure of the plan. It would be early spring walk/ski in. We have all the gear, tent etc… but figured the cabin could be a descent stop. Why not sleep in there? I've slept in worse places than that. It really depends on the snow condition at the time on what we do. I'm just interested in the area and never skied there. Now reading a bit more about it, it looks like there's lots of sleds… that could be a major buzz kill. To bad because it looks like a nice spot. Main goal is to do it on our own with no support. I do have more trips planed anyway, it's just a "if we have time" and if the condition are right kind of thing.

i personally wouldn't sleep in there because its gross and full of mouse shit. i'd much rather be in a turd-free tent.
there would likely be some sled traffic around there too. anyone know how much?

You should of seen my flat when I was in school!!! It does look like there's a fair amount of sleds but the area looks like it would be so beautiful in winter and not that dificult to access.

You're not thinking of the Eldorado cabin? ie the one from The Collective. Cuz yeah Taylor would be pretty bad. Eldorado would be easy access too. Or maybe Bralorne.
