our trip leader did the menu , built the boxes , and had the caches placed last weekend .
of course it helps that the guy guided for cmh in that area for a big part of his career .
as i slowly get my shit assembled for his trip the stoke level is rising . in particular , the opportunity to spend ten days in those mountains ( where i've never been before ) with my son is overcoming my trepidation about the magnitude of the trip .
i was initially going to go on a pair of B3's mounted with naxo bindings , packing a spare binding . today i bought a pair of fritschi freerides , new G3 skins , and ski crampons to mount on a pair of near new rossi S3s that i wasn't using .
i'm learning to quell my inner boy scout instinct to bring everything , and taking the advice of my buddies at work who have a wealth of experience to draw on : minimize !
