I'd like to build a remote live weather plot at the base of Hollyburn. Simple temp data would be very useful.

Arduino + old cell phone + a webserver = cheap solution. Would need to figure out the power draw and size of battery and cheap solar charger.

thewalrus could help with that.

Why slag free swag?

ummm, as your doctor i recommend against riding with a scaphoid fracture.

Got up for first tracks this morning…20 or so overnight and it snowed another 7 throughout the am. They didn't even open lion's side. Apparently stability was crazy and moons was sliding down onto collins, and the whole Bowen face let go (100m propogation)
It started raining at 1pm, and I promptly left. Should make for an interesting weekend in the backcountry!

My one day at cypress last season was around this time and it was a Friday as well where lions wasn't opened until 5ish. Claimed a slide in Collins in the am.
Figured they were feeding the bears this am, went to whistler instead. Probably should have went to baker instead of thar

Cypress was great this morning. Snow was super unstable though, I was causing little slides all over.

Id stay out of the backcountry this weekend! http://www.globaltvbc.com/current+avalanche+risk+worst+in+two+decades/6442814638/story.html

Due to that rain, all today's powder has a half inch crust on it. Most of the moguls were nice [HTML_REMOVED] soft though. Midway chair was a waste.

it was fun up there this am. some fresh on groom (the ungroomed stuff sucked; icy bumps below) was good times shredding. and a surprising lack of lift lines (sounds like everyone went to whistler). neat!

This morning was pretty awesome, heavyish, but still awesome, till I broke the nose off my board anyway…

I was on the fence for this morning… figured it would be pretty heavy. How warm did it get today? It seems like the freezing level will drop for tomorrow with more snow.

All I can say is that there is no better feeling than being the first one down the slope on a 15cm morning. I think I had a chubby:)
