Cypress did not suck this morning

ski into moons wasn't high enough and the trees are still pretty tight.

Noob question - can you ride the trails at Cypress that haven't officially been opened? Is it a "ride at your own risk" type issue or will they actually kick you out if you get caught?

They had stuff closed 2 years ago in November and we were riding them right down to the lift

Why slag free swag?

ummm, as your doctor i recommend against riding with a scaphoid fracture.

If you wait for patrol to "open the runs" you'll never ski anything at Cypress.

good question… I think its a risk management thing. Most of the times when the runs are closed its because they aren't 'ideal' for the general skier.

We went down the run off Horizon, it was closed and had big ditches in the middle of the run. they couldn't 'open' the run in that condition, but if you ski a closed run assuming there could be holes, ditches or tight trees you should be ok.

They have more issues with you going out of bounds ie - passed the boundary gates - cause people tend to die there.

I've ducked ropes right in front of ski patrol, they don't seem to mind. Don't worry guys I got this.

I'll show myself out.

Pretty fri ken awesome this morning. 38cm of fresh, blue sky above and a blanket of cloud over the city. 3rd chair up to start the day, lapped raven until it was tracked then headed to the other side. Left just as the cloud level rose to the ski hill.

Home in time to take the dog out for a bike ride! Not too shabby.

Did a lap up hollyburn today, it was great! Good coverage up top, but you need to pick your way through the last 1/3 or 1/4. Still a few open spots in creeks and scary log crossings, be careful out there.

Best day of the season so far. Raven was really good this morning. Sunshine for the rest of the day.

pheuf! glad I left at 3 once it was all tracked out. Not a single wait on my personal chairlift down on Raven.

Saturday was sick. Snowed all day, plus the wind pretty much covered over our tracks between each run.

The best part was watching all the idiots trying to get out of the parking lot at 5pm after it'd snowed all day. It just re-affirms that Vancouver drivers have no concept of the mechanics behind successful winter driving.

today was not bad, but not epic. Windy, wind affect in the trees. not a lot of snow on the main runs.

Anyone been up Hollyburn recently.

Open creeks?

This last cycle must have filled in a few holes.
