Well … snow IS at least 50% water!

They did update the current conditions in the last hour or so:
Weather Conditions: Light Drizzle
Base Temperature: Alpine 0°C Nordic 0°C

I've noticed several times recently that Cypress is very slow in the AM to update their new snow totals, even when its to their benefit… More than once its happened that around 8am, they show 2cm overnight and then it gets updated to 25cm a few hours later…
A simple fix would be for them to time-stamp the snow report so that people know when the info is from…

I usually cross-reference whatever the Cypress snow report says with the current freezing level. If it's [HTML_REMOVED]1000m then you can bet most of that precipitation came down as snow on the resort.

I assume slight drizle at base and snow on sky which isn't open yet. If it way raining sky would be open quickly..

Maybe Sharon and Lee can give us an update when they get home:)

How do you guys usually ski the run "Moons"? I never knew how to get to it before but did some searching and ran into a "moons low road", which was basically a traverse that brings you into the (skier's left) side of moons. Is there another entrance to Moons that is higher up by any chance? I think I saw some people hiking up off the "cat track" run??

Theres usually a pretty defined trail into moons, traversing around the ridge. Stay on it as long as possible for maximum fun. If you just keep heading right you can make it to midway in the trees

There is also two undefined routes but usually trails are cut by this time of year. One over the top and one around the other(left) side of the peak.

groomers where fast and soft tonight, glades where a bit crunchy but if you kept close to the trees the rain didn't freeze all the snow. Sky was closed all day again due to wind/avalanche warnings.

Best leg workout of the year hitting moon tonight.

Any update on what's actually going on up there? Snow report says 1 alpine and -1 Nordic ??? It's been nearly snowing at the high elevations in Port Moody so should I be optimistic about cypress conditions for tomorrow morning?

Well it's raining on Seymour so it will definitely be raining on Cypress.

From the CAC:

Weather Forecast
Wednesday: Snow flurries with another 5-10cm possible, moderate southwesterly winds becoming northwesterlies in the afternoon, and freezing levels are expected to spike as high as 1500m overnight Tuesday but lower back down to 700m by midday. Thursday and Friday: Mainly sunny and dry with light northerly winds and freezing levels near sea level.

Doesn't look good for North Shore mountains.

as of 8:30pm
Cypress: Weather Conditions: Mixed Rain [HTML_REMOVED] Snow; Base Temp: Alpine 1°C Nordic 3°C

Grouse: 2C, raining skies

This storm is definitely bringing some hot air. Looks like Baker is also getting some liquid sunshine…

The next week should be pretty good for icy groomers!
