1 Day tickets for Whistler

Got a cousin coming into town this winter, likely going to get just one day at Whistler, can't even see one day ticket prices on their website anymore. Anyone know best place to get tickets? Do 7-11 still do cheap day tickets?

Pretty sure 7-11 stopped a few years back when RFID tickets became mandatory.

Also pretty sure day ticket prices are going to be ugly with Vail this year. Fuckers eliminated the 3 days EDGE card as well which is what I used to get my wife (some seasons she hits 5 days, some not)...

It appears this may be inline with the mayor's recent comments about not wanting one-day local visitors. Vail is after the destination multi-day tourists rather than the one-day casual local visitor. Sure, come & visit. Just make sure you stay for more than one day & don't pack your own lunch.

I'm waiting with bated breath to see what the day tickets are going to cost.  Vail is $164 USD when purchased in advance... not sure what walkup cost is.  Think it was $175 last year.

I think I get at least two 50% off tickets with my WB season pass (didn't buy an Epic because there is zero chance I am riding any other Vail resorts). I hope I do anyway.

My guess is $159 + tax for peak season walk-up day ticket. Will be hilarious if they go higher.

2 days advanced purchase in February is $124/day, so $150-ish at the window sounds about right.

The backcountry pass will probably be over $60.

Cypress is half the price (or less!) and 30mins from downtown. I was aghast at the single day ticket prices last year and stayed away. Even took my brown paper bag lunch to Cypress and they didn't mind.

I don’t recall getting any emails or mail from WB about edge cards this spring/summer/fall.

That's OK.  They'll be slow and there'll be less of them.

In fairness to Vail, this makes sense.  They want the locals to invest in the risk of a shitty season, and they want the destination visitors to pay for the "guarantee" they get should they book days in advance.

As mentioned before, this is all about risk mitigation.  Given the crowds last year, it's welcome in my books.

The crowds plus the spot on weather forecasting has made the empty powder days a distant memory. I'm sure the place will still be jammed. The only upside is the tourist skiers usually don't get on the hill until 10 am.

There were a couple sleeper days last winter but not many, pretty consistent weather patterns.

For crowds, I'm worried any reduction from last minute WA/BC by restricting EDGE card will be offset by more passholders with the cheaper price. We will see. What we really need is RCMP checking winter tires @ Squamish every Friday through Sunday and handing out $2,000 fines.

One day, pre-purchase, prices are now on the W-B website. Starting at $104 and going up to $133 for the holidays (plus GST, of course). Still don't see the ticket window price anywhere.

I've heard the backcountry pass will be $62.

Edit: If I read the website correctly, those pre-purchase prices are only good until today, then they will go up.
