It's a sad state of affairs indeed having Whistler become virtually inaccessible to a lot of people. It's another nail in the coffin for living in Vancouver for a lot of people no doubt.
Along with the business model outlined above to have people stay n pay you'd have to wonder if they are worried about being forced to kick in for some highway upgrades. The Creekside design was on the right track having the lot right at the highway. To accommodate the numbers that it has been growing to would need to 4 lane through to Green Lake, enlarge the parkade at Creekside, do a similar parkade off the highway at the planned Cheakamus expansion and probably a parkade off the highway at the main village too. The golf course driving range would be ideal. But none of that makes em money so better to say fu to Vancouver. Also that many people on the hill, yikes!
