It wasn't bait,I personally believe that trail info belongs to the locals and they should get a cut of the proceeds to put back into the trails.

It would be nice if the local trail associations were getting a cut of these app sales. I know that when I inquired about the Squamish maps, I was told that SORCA only gets a cut from sales of paper maps, not apps. I bought the paper map.

:( That is disappointing to hear.

Guess I will stick with renewing my paper maps then :)

FYI…here on the ssc in the last 10 yrs of building i have never seen a dime or heard of any builders getting any dimes from the paper map guys (or otherwise for that matter) the new online maps are much better detail wise than the paper based one IMO….

it would be nice if there was a local trail association..:)

This group just rides, no trail work?

(My parents live on the SSC so I'm up there a few times a year so often try to sneak a ride in.)

Edit: Here is the link to the old map book that the 2 bike shops used to sell:

I bought the App yesterday evening for my iPhone, it seems pretty good. Basic, but it's all you need really. I haven't ridden up in Sechelt before and it lays those trails out really well.

Off to the Coast on the first ferry Saturday morning!

Anybody have any tips for finding moto trails up there? I'm sure the locals must have some semi-legit place to go? I've heard around B[HTML_REMOVED]K, but i'd hate to be stumpling onto MTB trails.

Just tried out the sunshine coast trails map on android :(

My review:

"It's great to see a map app for mountain biking, but this one is severely crippled by how slow it updates. It's so bad my phone thinks the app is hanging and asks if i want to close the app. I'll be happy to update my review if this is fixed."

I've used the Squamish one on my iPhone a number of times and it worked great. Too bad the Android version still has issues.
