Thinking about a summer road trip with friends….open to suggestions for a 5-7 day trip. Some long cross-country epic days, maybe mixed with some big downhills, or downhill areas…ie) Merrit, Kamloops, Sunpeaks, Vernon, Silverstar….
or Rossland, Pentiction, Nelson, OR, the island, Courtney, mt.washington, etc.
Ideas?

Look into the Southern Okanagan..it has everything you are looking for. The island's best to hit in the shoulder seasons imo.
My 'To Do' list for the upcoming summer:
-Keystone Standard Basin [HTML_REMOVED] Martha's Creek, Revelstoke
-Wakefield [HTML_REMOVED] Galena Trails, New Denver
-Double Dewdney Trail, Rossland
-Jack the Ripper, Pemberton
Thanks duga, V.I….7 Summits and Dewdney Trail, etc in Rossland sound like must do's…I've heard Penticton has some great trails…other south Okanagan recommendations?
Penticton, fer sure. Also, Princeton has a new network of trails that are supposed to be very good.
Revy: Martha creek
Kaslo: The Monster/mindshaft
Nelson: Baldface/hitman/powerslave/toad member
Slocan: Idaho peak and anything Rilor
Merrit: Iron mtn
Pemberton: All I can say is that it's on my list for 2011
Penticton: The mice is fun but you need a guide/ Derenzey to Rock oven
Kelowna: Little white into gillard or crawford…it's a 6000' decent
Oliver: get smoke to guide you and save a seat for me!

whoa! thanks for the list! 6000' descent???!!! is the Rock oven above Naramata where the KVR goes thru rock oven provincial park? I gotta start researching those other locales!
Rock oven is actually south of the skaha bluffs.
The mice is in naramata. The trail exits are 30 seconds from the beach and you ride by a few winery's on your way down to the beach so make sure you pack some money and your swimming trunks. No cops in naramata so you can do whatever really.

Pedalhounds pics from all those trails, although we only rode the actual Dewdney and not the new section heading the other direction. Only heard about that one last summer.
Pemberton, and Lillooet (Della - 3500' Shuttle). Or Williams Lake, and Smithers. Epic days with some great shuttles for good measure.
rossland-nelson-kaslo-slocan valley-meadow creek
best/most/most diverse riding in the province hands down
everything is within 1.5 hours of nelson
