Phoenix and Sedona

So I'm getting pretty excited planning a trip to Phoenix with a day or 2 in Sedona.

I'll have a half day to ride south mountain in Phoenix and will probably just ask the rental shop for a trail suggestion.

Now, can anybody recommend an easyish but still nice loop in Sedona? The wife's coming along and she's a green/blue run girl. Maybe a few hours or so? I've seen some promising loops on singletracks (13 mile mescal trail loop) but wondering if anybody's got any experienced suggestions. Also is there typically cell phone coverage out there for emergencies?

Yes. I've got trailforks installed. I wonder if anybody has any opinions on trails/loops…

For Sedona Park at the Chuck Wagon trailhead and ride chuck wagon.

Mescal is really neat but there are a few bits of small exposure which can be walked. Or you can loop around deadman pass.

Tack on Aerie for a longer loop.

Both bike shops in town can also recommend some good loops.

Dude!! I've been a few times and I have a suggestion! Do some mellow loop with your wife, then go ride highline one day and hangover the next. You can't go to Sedona without riding these two trails! Send your wife to the spa while you're out!!!! Win win!

Oh boy. I wish I could. It's a family trip with limited time away from the toddler. No spa time l'm afraid.

Do you have a chariot or something? Theres a family friendly trail called white line. Kids would love it. Check the vids

Agreed, nice trail on smooth rock, just happens to be at some crazy 45 degree angle. Great view though.

One area that was pretty fun for a couple hour ride was Adobe Jack, a huge number of trails around the area. Not too much elevation gain, little ups and downs and not too difficuilt.

Plus 1 for Mescal. Fun , scenic and with moderate exposure a great ride for you and your wife. Also worthy is a ride to Chicken Point to check out the infamous White Line. Intermediate riding in that area.
