Campground bookings are live. I booked site 202 for 31 May and 1 June. Leaving Sunday 2 June.

I’ll post more info later. Just wanted to let people know they can book sites now.

---------------------

Old 2023 meetup info below:

I'm organizing a NSMB Meet Up in Cumberland over the 9 - 11 June 2023 weekend. This is not an official NSMB event. Just folks who hang out on the forums and want to meet up for some social riding, camping and hanging out.

I booked site 202 at the Comox Lake Campground. The map above shows site availability at the time I posted this. If you want to stay at the Riding Fool Hostel or at an AirBNB/hotel that works too!

Cost is free. Just show up with a bike that mostly works and enough fitness to climb to the top of the Cumby trails.

Riding will be Blue/Single Black TechFlow. Interesting, but nothing deadly. Pace will be social/no drop. We can adjust plans a bit when we see who is interested.

On the off chance someone from further afield wants to attend I can pick you up at the airport and shuttle you and your bike around.

Nice idea Vik!

Those dates overlap with having family over from Holland but I'll try to join at least some of the riding. And some gelato at Love Ice Cream of course.

BTW - the campsite cancellation policy is pretty reasonable so if you are on the fence book and you can always cancel later.

Checking in @ 1 on the 9th, and out at 11 on the 11th?

Booking now :)

I've needed an excuse to get out to the area.

Yes in on Friday and out on Sunday. I mean anyone can feel free to stay longer of course. Unless I get hurt I'll ride with you!

Nope. You can ride a rigid rig or a FS one. I mean if half the group is on 170mm travel Enduro beasts and half is on hardtails we may split forces and join up to tell lies at the brewery afterwards. We'll keep things flexible and when we see who is there we'll come up with a plan that maximizes everyone's fun as much as we can.

BTW - I am on the road for the next while. I'll check in here every few days. So if you don't get any feedback for a bit I'm not ignoring you.

This is a great idea Vik.  I would be keen, but with both kids in spring sports I won't know if I am available until a little closer to the date.  I will keep an eye on this thread though.

In the spirit of inclusion it would be good family fun to build up a nice bonfire and sacrifice all bikes that aren't hardtails with push-on grips to the demon god Azeroth.

I'll bring marshmallows and long sticks.

Booked. Thanks for the motivation Vik. If anyone wants to carpool from north van let me know. I would love to split ferry costs.

I might even bring my hardtail!

You have to bring it! I can store a bike in my garage if you are worried about security while riding.

Okay. I may have to get some push on grips just for the event. I don't want to let the team down. ;-)
