Going to be in Cumby next week for a ride with the wife. Anyone have a good 2/3 hour couple lap route they could share? Wife can ride Espresso and Crinkum on Fromme no problem. Anything more challenging causes her to get rattled and kinda kills the ride. Heard the new climbing trail is super nice. Thx for any info

The wife and I go over to the island to ride Cumberland frequently. We did a few days there last summer. We would usually start off in the main parking lot (which is awesome with toilets and bike wash!) and ride up the fire road to the climb trail. Last year, only the lower part of the climb trail was finished, so we had to cross Sykes bridge and ride the fire road over to Lower and Upper Climax to get to the upper trails. It now looks like the full climb trail is done, so its probably worth a ride. From the top of the new climb trail, Id do Thirsty Beaver (Upper and Lower), which is rated a black, but would be no problem for your wife if she can do Espresso. Id then move on to the Vanilla flow trail which leads into Crafty Butcher, Double Pumper and 50:1or Rapture which takes you back to the parking lot. The nice thing about these loops is that you can cut them short and find an easier way back to the parking if you are done and dont feel like riding any further. There are lots of options in Cumberland, just check Trailforks for some of the mapped routes and go from there. Hard to go wrong with any of them.
