I'm heading to Argentina for a few weeks and i want to rent a bike for a few days. Seems like Bariloche would be the place but can't find too much info on the trails down there. Anyone ever been biking down there and can point me in the right direction

Have you seen this? http://www.bikes.com/en/stories/argentina-adventure

I just got back from 2.5 weeks there in November but we made it a non-biking trip. Feel free to ask any non-riding questions if you want.

what was your favorite place down there ? I'll have plenty of time to explore as i will be in Patagonia for 4-6 weeks. Fitz roy, torres del paine, Perito Moreno, Bariloche and Mendoza are on the list so far

Nice, we stayed mostly North because we had less time and thought Patagonia deserved it's own trip. I'm jealous of how much time you have!

The area around Salta was very cool. We rented a car and did a loop Salta - overnight in Cafayate - overnight in Cachi - Salta. Great variety of landscapes (kind of Utah-esque), wine regions, 3000m+ desert. Would have been cool to spend more more time in this area and see what outdoorsy-stuff you could do. Certainly there's great terrain….

Buenos Aires was great. We stayed in the Palermo neighbourhood and there's was lots to explore, nice restaurants, etc. (tip: do yourself a favour and make a reso at La Carniceria for dinner)

Mendoza - we stayed in a resort out in the Uco Valley. Beautiful. Didn't spend much time in Mendoza itself. All the advice I was given was to avoid the town itself. Relaxed and wine toured. Worked for us.

Iguazu Falls - the falls are spectacular and put Niagara to shame but there's not a lot else to do. We debated whether we should go. In the end we enjoyed it but it is definitely out of the way.
