If you happen to be heading through Grand Junction and Fruita, there is a ton of quality riding. Fruita has awesome XC stuff, stop into a bike shop they will point you in the right direction. If you hit 18 Road make sure to do Kessels Run and PBR.

Grand Junction has some amazing shuttles. Go into town and talk to the guys at Grass Roots cycles, they sometimes have a shuttle running to the Ribbon and Free Lunch.

Soverign is a good area to hit it if you've done the marathon drive down and want an acclimatization ride. Moab is at elevation compared to the coast and being early season people aren't in mid-season fitness.

I agree, ride in Fruita [HTML_REMOVED] Grand Junction too. 2 areas in Fruita; 18 Road [HTML_REMOVED] Kokopelli area (loops above the Colorado River). Grand Junction - Lunch loops and the higher stuff like the Ribbon.

Ye Ol Geezer Meat Shop in Utah is the best place for steaks and beef jerky. This place is awesome!

I'm heading down to Moab in September for a 10 day road trip. We're towing our travel trailer. Any recommendations on a good camping spot in town?

For a quiet place with showers, we liked Pack Creek:

We last stayed there a few years ago.
Most of the other campgrounds are noisy as they are right beside the highway, and there is a lot of truck traffic at night.

(Don't be scared off by having to drive through the trailer park area on the way in, the residents aren't in the campground area.)
