holy crap, I was trying to imagine what something like this would be like last night, I determined I'm not sure I'd make it….or pretty sure I wouldn't?

The winner is not going to stop. Rumors/predictions are around 60 hours. It's more a test of no sleep. A few guys that are entered have done 1000 km in one stretch in around 70 for no money can you imagine what they would do for 750000$

$10K to enter.

i'd guess it'll mostly be spawcered riders or factory teams looking for media bragging rights.

We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.

10k to enter? You can race the Tour Divide for nothing but what it would cost you in Red Bull, gummy bears and pepperoni sticks.

Safe Riding.

Sounds like the winning team might will sleeping some?

Sleep deprivation: I don’t think a team will win this race without any sleep. But too much sleep and you will miss the boat. How much is the right amount of sleep? This is a very tough question to answer, as ultimately it is a subjective thing. And, to compound the problem, what will work optimally for one partner will almost certainly not be optimal for the other! You will have to do some very long rides and get to the point when sleep monsters are starting to attack you! What are sleep monsters? Ask any serious adventure racer or top Tour Divide rider and they will smile. It's that uncontrollable force that pulls your eyelids down and makes you feel like you are about to fall asleep on your bike! And that’s exactly what will happen if you don’t stop for a quick power nap. As a rider becomes sleep deprived, so their power output will begin to wane. You might think riding for 40 hours non-stop is great, but if you are only piddling along at 10 kays an hour, you are wasting your time. The real challenge is to know when your power output is dropping significantly because of potential sleep monsters. This is the time to stop and sleep. But what if this phase doesn’t coincide with when you are passing through a race village? The good news is that you will all be in the same boat. However, you will still need to do some very long rides with your partner and start to get a feel for when sleep monsters attack.
