Start times North Shore BC Enduro Series

I'm a noob.

How do start times get set for each stage?

Each class runs separately, but I gotta think there's going to be some speed disparity within classes. Both on descents and the climbs.

I'm more worried about the climbs.

The 2.5 hour per day estimate on the course announcement sounds optimistic to me.

Or one will need to be crushing climbs.

Anyone have some insight? How did start times work in Penticton?

In Pneticton it was a bit of a free for all to be honest due to the required shuttles. The open category started about 30-45 minutes before the pro class to try and ensure everyone finished around the same time. Things might change with this race requiring a ride out to stage one as the pace difference between Open and Pro will be more of an issue on the longer transfer stages.

EDIT: Riders package available here

more or less a mass start. the ride to the 1st stage is long enough that things get spread out in short order. you start each timed stage whenever you get there (there's no separation of categories), so you ride at whatever pace is comfortable, rather than try to meet a specified start time.

Is this a pre reg only event? Reason I ask is that my kid is sick so I'm playing it by ear for the weekend.

yeah… That trail has cost me enough money. I'll be depending on others being just slightly more afraid of the trail than me.

Lots of people making fun of enduro racing but this was fun. The best format of racing I have ever done, even though I shit the bed. You get to take 'er easy and socialize on the way up, go when you want in the timed sections, self time your run, have xc riders, dh riders, and weekend warriors race together, get your time right away, and just have boatloads of fun! I'm surprised I didn't see more locals out.

$90 entry is why you did not see more locals out.

My buddy Dustin Adams won the Open Mens class after ten years after he last raced. Dude still has the skills on the descents.

Good times. Was eye opening to see how just a little too much effort on the climbs can murder my legs after a couple hours. I tried to maximize my "enduro points" on day 1 and keep up with my fast riding buddies, but thought it unwise to repeat that on day 2. Kept my own pace on day 2 and it definitely helped Only walked a couple spots though… Pleased with 12th in Open Men.

Looking forward to seeing some pics. I was all sorts of out of shape whenever I was close to a photog… Should be funny…
