Sea to Sky Enduro Series
bc enduro's = $90??
this and fvmba win….
NSMBA, Squamish Enduro, WORCA, and PVTA are proud to announce the Sea to Sky Enduro Series for 2014.
Each event will be single-day and multi-stage, with each stage starting higher than it finishes. Courses will be generally intermediate in difficulty. The timed stages will have technical, generally descending terrain. These stages are linked by predominantly ascending connecting stages. This aims to test rider's technical bike handling skills as well as providing endurance and climbing. The winner is the rider with the lowest aggregate time. Courses will be blind, announced shortly before the race. Each individual stage will be professionally and accurately timed. Each event will finish with a solid after party. There will be a succinct point system for the series, with a grand prize for the overall category winners. Get stoked to ride some of the worlds most renowned single-track in a competitive and social atmosphere.
SCHEDULE (preliminary)
North Vancouver: May 24
Squamish: May 3 and July 5
Whistler: June 28 and July 26
Pemberton: May 17More details to follow @ www.seatoskyenduro.com (not up and running yet)
That should do it.
Dates are set, impossible to avoid all conflicts. Our series raises $$ directly for trails in each community. Will be very fun. Website, promo video all delayed, beyond my control, I apologize. Big media blitz when they're ready…
That is why I am holding those weekends open. Awesome stuff. Thanks for all the energy to get this sorted.
Jon-boy.
So is "the beast" coming back?
I'm going to end up spending more on race entry's than bikes this year. Not complaining one bit!

Time the climbs
Go do the Nimby you Fred.
What are fees looking like they'll be, and how will riding association membership requirements work?

Okay, maybe not time them, but put a ceiling limit on them to stop people from walking up beside their bike

The Sea to Sky Series is the fun laid back series for everyone, if people want to take their time and walk that's cool. No agro serious racer vibes needed.
The goal of the series is to have fun and raise money for the local trails.

I'll likely do any events in this series on my Chromag again and yield to the fast cats on the down bits.
I think the EWS and the BC one need to get real though

The EWS did have a cut off time for the climbs. You had a time you needed to be at the start of each stage. They could have cut it down a wee bit to put some more pressure on the climbs, but overall I don't think it would change the outcome. The climb up to Stage 4 was a burner either way, it's steep enough that in sections walking is about the same pace as grinding it out in granny gear.
Not sure what Mega has planned for the BC Series, I suspect it will be like the EWS with designated start times for each stage.
