Looks like a fun race, but does 27 km warrant "Marathon" status? ;)

c'mon, a 2 hour bike ride is a marathon, isn't it?
tough putting together a proper xc loop in north van without getting silly, too hard, exposing secret trails, etc.

Seems a little ironic to read about a north shore event over on pinkbike.

Also it is interesting to see that the guy from Squish isn't buying into the 30in bar trend.

I can imagine it would be tough to put a solid course together without a ton of gravel road etc, but does that mean we can water down the term "marathon"?

Maybe it should just be an "XC race"? Next weekends XC race in Port Alice is 24km.

Why? Pinkbike is based out of Chilliwack and has tons of racing coverage, local or otherwise.
