I think the beaver is a bad call, you are going to have to run a lot of air pressure to not flat tire.

Pemby doesn't really get muddy or greasy in the rain, if anything the grip gets better. I would stick with your original tires. An Icon or Racing Ralf would be the way to go for a rear tire.

I road it way back in 2010 in the pouring rain with CrossMarks and they worked great.

Thanks for the suggestion, I've removed the Beaver (damn it took me SO long to finally mount tubeless too!) and put on the Ralph…

Mounted the Beaver tubeless, you say? Are you sure that is safe?

My fastest time but my worst Nimby due to running my suspension and tires too hard. I was pinging off everything like a total gonk.

4 flats, chain jam, broken wheel, humped the bike out that last 5km on my back. Still finished, got my burger and beer. Good times.
Big thanks to all the folks that donated tubes to me after I exhausted my own. Even the dude that gave the leaky tube (I guess that makes 5 flats), better I get it when my day is already compromised than he get it when he really needs it.

Oh, and the to the guy that gave me the 700x23 road tube, you are either naive and well-meaning or a jack-ass prankster…either way I owe you a beer :)

Sneddon was keeping him honest but flatted (or crashed) on Overnight.

I had a rough day out there. Started off slow and then managed ride slower as the race progressed. And unfortunately it hurt to ride slow.

The only bright side is even with ridiculous amount of traffic I had a decent enough run down overnight.

That was a fun race… some of those rocky sections were sketchy awesome!

I chose to put the Ralph/Ron on the hardtail, i think i would have felt better putting bigger tires on… those roots/rocks after nimby 50 climb were jarring the crap out of me!

I gave someone a quick link when his chain broke, that gave me karma points to make it through unscathed! However…. my stupid saddlebag (used TWICE) the zipper decided to rip open and so I lost my Multi-tool and my CO2 kit. Don't suppose there is a lost and found?!?! :)

Good times, this racing thing is fun. I did 3:20 or so, but really was more worried about not stressing myself on the climb (or anyone else) and actually there were only a few jackasses on the way up.

Well, you had company. 72 DNFs.

I would have been another had that last road ride been another KM, I think. My body went into full shut-down mode after crossing the line.

Tough day. Great trails. I hate to say it, but I think I'll be back next year…unfinished business.
