Given the choice I'd probably ride Ikons… I'm bringing a machine gun to a knife fight riding my SB6C with DHRII/Minion SS.

Weather is calling for [HTML_REMOVED]1 mm rain overnight and 10-14c, cloudy with showers for Sat so I'm thinking conditions are going to be about perfect.

I also am curious as to what tires people are running. Right now I have Ikon's front and rear

I used to run racing ralph 2.25 front and back, it was ok but some sections it felt to sketchy for me. Now ralph 2.25 rear, nobby nic 2.35 front. Feels a lot safer on the steep loose stuff.

DHF and HR2 … year round s2s tire combo! I find by mid season the hr2 is almost a semi slick either way

really great, really cold! I stayed barely on the good side of hypothermic….really glad I had a pair of dry gloves in a plastic bag with my water bottle at the 4-way, day saver

Cold got the better of me. I couldn't brake and could barely even hang on!

Well done to anyone who finished.

That was a great idea! Wish I had thought of it…. I wore about three layers and I was still cold at the top of the mountain. Some sketchy descents when you can't feel the bar.

Glad I went out.

the best moment of the day was climbing up the road from no err, soaked and muddy in the rain, comming up on a guy playing hip hop on portable speakers in his pack. I could not help but laugh at the ridiculousness of the situation. am I white enough for ya! lol.

the course was super fun. much props the the volunteers out there all day in the shit.

Just a speculative fiction. No cause for alarm.

I'll take today's weather over last year's every day and twice on Sunday. What a day that was. Most fun I've had on a bike in a while.

Overnight was hilarious. A couple real close calls.

Volunteers were definitely unbelievable.

After climbing up from No Err, I heard some rustling in the bushes next to me. Small black bear runs across the road right in front me. That was somewhat surprising. Musta been going nuts with all the bikes doing circles around him.

Definitely a character building day. Spare gloves and winter shoes were the day savers for sure.
Stoked to go in blind and manage my energy well enough to actually have fun on the whole course. Highlights were being blown away by first time views on the misty, loamy spots up Nimby, bombing the tech lines on Overnight without feeling my fingers and laughing at the sheer savagery of the back nine…

Great day. Threw on a rain jacket for overnight and then a new pair of gloves at the bottom, I think that saved me for the back half.

Epic race story.
