I remember the gentlemens agreement at rat race. Everyone I know hit the jump. I cant believe how much dialogue there was over that. Unreal.
new DH rig for GJ
pro/expert lines are a very simple solution.
everyone else races a jumpless course. Simple. Also motivates people to race pro/expert rather than sandbag in Citizen rather than buy a license.
There were some pretty serious sandbaggers at Mt. Washington. I cant remember names but there were a couple of full kit pro looking racers there.

Nah, you need to make it fun for everyone.
There's only 15-20 or so pro/elite racers at any given local race, as opposed to 175 or so just in it for fun. Which of those groups are paying your bills?????
you talking about the rat race? there was a lot of very n00b women riding that course, one of whom crashed on that jump and either dislocated or broke her collarbone on a practice run. if it was canada cup or worlds i would understand, but the rat race is a pretty beginner sort of dh race.
different jump.
but your quote does help make my point.
EVERYONE has an opinion
i should point out we are a beginner friendly event and were very upset that young lady went down…but people crash at mountain bike races.
while 1 person was upset with the outcome of the jump MANY racers were pleased with the challenge and ultimate success of being forced out of there comfort zone with regards to the course layout.
I think that if you determine that the jump or steep line is the tech line, make the ride around longer/slower.. see Arduum..
..Guys were cutting one of the jumps in the middle of Bear, and then trying to ride through the big at the bottom.. well until a large um, pothole appeared.
Is there a Vancouver in Taiwan?! I had no idea!!
