I know its early but I'm looking at booking flights to head out to the Hemlock race.
Is there any info out there about this race or a website?

I learned to ski at Hemlock as a kid and I have a free place to stay in Mission.
I really wanted to make it out for Arduum but I couldn't get the time off. Looks like we'll do a hikeabike in the fall to ride it.
The dates are wrong on the website, anyone know the real dates?

hey, dan….can you give us a level of difficulty of the course on a scale of 1 to Arduum?
(I'm trying to judge whether to push recovery so I can race, or whether I should take it easy and just come out and enjoy the event from the sidelines)
Loud Hubs Save Lives
I hear the difficulty will depend largely on how much….or should I say how little you use your brakes…I've yet to see the course though.

if it is based on the old course it is not that difficult imo. Arrdum being a 9-10 this would be say a 5 at most…
Hemlock is dry loose rock not much if any loam or even roots. When we raced there years ago it was rather dusty and cakey (think Kamloops with lots of pebbles….but as Bryan said I have yet to see this years course)
I would say plan on racing it should be a good time.
Blogging - Never before have so many people with so little to say said so much to so few.
Dan,
Perhaps a stupid question but Friday the course is open to walking that is clear….but can we ride the rest of the mountain with the lifts running?
It would be cool to session what little trails they have on Friday to see the terrain…then practice on course Saturday.

As was previously noted, the course is a solid 5-6. The difficulty comes from how fast you want to hit it. There is going to be a huge wide open section, fall line down the ski run into a berm that sends you back into the trees. Line selection at that point could win you the race. It is a U-15 Event so we can't Arduum Gaps on the course. Although there will be a small creek gap.

Right now I am going to say no. I am unsure of the condition of the other tracks or if they are even there. Additionally there are no bikes allowed on the lift that day. Next year maybe…
Cheers!
Dan
Sorry for the late information, we are working on an "Offical - Kissed by Karla with lipstick on" Press Release in the coming days. (BC Place is keeping me busy these days)…
But we now have some hardware that if you are fast enough, read… no braking… you can get your greasy hands on.

Additionally, if you want to stay on the mountain the good folks at SnowFlake Resorts have a cabin for you and your friends. Some even come with hot tubs!
