Biking: As addictive as cocaine, twice as expensive!

Makes staying up for the final weekend less appealing now.
Why is everyone complaining? It makes it possible for Canadian racers to race it due to Nationals and a Canada Cup in Pano during Crankworx. Whats racing without racers? Cheers to Seb for working around the CCA and finding a way to make things work!

Because some of us Canadian racers have jobs, and racing on a Tuesday means taking a Monday and Tuesday off work.

Oh the horror! Those 4 day weekends really suck.
it sucks for a spectator that's for sure.
Looks like they have something going on every day of Crankworx. Pretty tough to fit those all in on a weekend.
I guess that falls under the category of "you can't please all of the people all of the time".
I get why they've done it, and I understand it's probably for the best given the circumstances, it's just going to be annoying. I think I remember reading the reason for Crankworx being so early in the season was because the World Cup teams are already in North America then, correct? I know a lot of the World Cup guys are annoyed that WCs seem to be scheduled without any regard for travel logistics between rounds, and I think Crankworks were trying to sympathise with that. It makes sense, it's just annoying for us mere mortals and, as mentioned earlier, it will likely kill the rowdy spectator atmosphere that the Canadian Open was so awesome for. Having said that, I seem to remember seeing some sweet spectator videos from the A-line race in previous years, which has always been mid-week, so who knows? Maybe the crowds will step-up…
