hey y'all, i'm filling some huge shoes this year, taking over tony horn's race director position at worca.

we'll be putting our new timing system to use again for the women's event, which i've designed as a pedally unduro, with 5 timed stages that all start higher than they finish, but they are all fun and friendly and a couple involve a good bit of pedalling. lots of on-course shenanigans and a banger after-party at the fairmont. still some spots left, see here:

Looks so sweet. I'm considering a sex change.

Thanks for including another women's race this year Clark!

A few of us North Shore Bond girls are pre-riding the course tomorrow - and I have a quick question about the entrance to Big Timber. When you say "start at top of stairs" - is the the first set of stairs you can see from the road? Or do we head down the gravel road past the yellow gate, lefty into the trail, then start at the top of those stairs? (~50m into the trail).

Before today I've done that trail a whopping 2 times in my life - once from each of the 2 different entrances so I'm curious which way the stage starts.

Starts at top of first stairs you see from the road.
Stages 3 and 4 might get modified due to some new land access issues. Stand by…

It didn't get as much chatter on this site as the other events, but I want to give a HUGE thanks to Clark for putting on the Battle for Bond women's enduro this year. He really deserves some public recognition for this one!

Awesome trail selection. They were some of my favourites - and in amazing shape. The enduro format makes for a really fun day of riding with friends - thanks Team Fembots! And the after-party just seems to get better and better each year - the casino was a really nice touch.

It's my third year of doing the WORCA's women race and it's always so amazing to see how many awesome volunteers (and spousoids) come out to support women's riding - and really get into the spirit of the event, doing it all in costume. To the photogs, the gelato station, all the marshalls, plus our own personal support crew that kept us "hydrated" at transitions and the finish line - thanks guys! It was a great day.

Yes, a huge thanks to all the vollies! Those boys sure can hold their own with a bunch of rowdy girls. Meeting some new ladies on the trails was such a lovely bonus too!

Thanks to everyone who helped make this day so great.

Glad we went up to cheer the girls on. I was surprised to see how hard everyone was trying (I'm a sexist asshole I guess!).

If it happens next year will be back to volley with our wangs in a sock or something lovely like that.

There were costumes!

This trip to Kelowna was definately an undertaking - Liam and I had been planning this project for 24 hours. We worked really hard to pull out all the stops in this video. We had slo-mo goggle shots; time lapses; pedal flips; outrageous product shots; unloading and loading the bike; walking through the field with your hand in wheat. At the end of the day this trip was all about just getting out and riding with all my friends.
