<div>what will winner and average racers' finishing times be?
Predicted Platinum time?
How much longer in time will Red Bull Downhill be?
Heat stroke or hypothermia?

</div>

why does "div" appear after I submit. I don't see them while typing or editing my message?

<div>seems that Enter/Return key creates a div mid post, but still getting them beginning and end</div>

Broke my leg and had surgery in Jan. Still recovering so no Nimby for me.  Bummed to hear that next year is the last race. I'm going to hike somewhere to check out the suffer fest. Even though I'm not riding, I feel that removing let it go was questionable. Especially since they re-routed the back half in a big way.

Rode the course last weekend. I was thinking that removing let it go was a mistake but let me tell you the new course is way more fun! Overnight is shit tho, that needs to change. Overall I like the new course better. Second half is much easier.  I'm betting times will be fast this year. If your on the fence do it, it's worth it.

I'm recovering from surgery and can't race this year.  Killing me...

I was super disappointed to see that next year will be the last.  This race has been a staple on my calendar ever since I moved to BC.  I'm sure it was a ton of work keeping the race going as long as they did but it'll be sorely missed.

The new course is probably a bit faster, but I don't think the times will be wildly different for people with elite fitness.  That said, I bet it'll be much less painful for the average rider.  IMO, the brutal part of the previous course was the legs tightening up on the fifty/overnight descent, only to have to summon big power on the back.  Those climbs after sphincter caused SO much carnage.

Unless something drastically changed between last October and now, I wouldn't go and say it's a shit. Classic descent. And downtime is always an ego check, as the times between first and mid pack are approx only a minute or two, but the time at the finish line between first and mid pack is an hour (or two).

Maybe shit is a bit harsh. I've been riding Pemby for a long time and can tell you that overnight (not all lines but some) is an eroded mess and not very fun (mind you I'm on a hardtail). The rest of the downhills are an absolute joy. Kickers, berms, just flow... specially after middle earth, so rad!!  Not sure, but I think they closed the steep section where you can chose the ride around or not on overnight for the race. That section is basically a trench now, it needs to be fixed or permanently closed. We rode it on the weekend and it's pretty bad.

Where were all the single speeders?

It was lonely out there.

what gear did you use?

I would think for most people that singlespeed is only slightly better than being chainles

32-19 on a 27.5 wheel with 2.3" minions

It's a bit of a grunt on the steep climbs, but that's what the granny gear (walking) is for.   I must have gotten passed by 30 people on the flat section to Happy... that's what sucked the most.  Then it was Sunday cruise speed up the climb for the next hour.

Descending it was totally fine.  Although I was feeling pretty destroyed on all the descents.

I updated the editor to the latest version, looks like that should fix this issue as it removed the divs in the quoted text above.
