Watched the replay last night, sucks for Gwin with another mechanical but I am rooting for Minnaar this season. What happened to Neko? I just skimmed the replay and watched the top 15 or so.

Agree that Warner/Claudio is getting a bit tired and rarely exciting except for Greg's Fort William run this season. Their knowledge of the sport is great but just seems to lack excitement and when they are it seems forced.

neko was DQ'd at the start gate for an inadequate back protector (it was taped to his jersey, cardboard? lulz)

What he said was that he was riding like that since he got there.

What PB said was that he switched over to cardboard on race day.

Someone is at fault here and I have no idea who that is.

Predictions for MSA? I have a feeling Gwin will pull this one out. Nice to have a race on during the day, although I think I'll be out riding at least during women's finals.

Gwin / Brosnan / Minnaar

Atherton / Seagrave / Nicole

Finn

Wild cards that might sneak in there...Loris Vergier or Jack Moir? They have both been hot.

We should start a pool on who will be the next first time WC winner. To the two you listed I would also add Laurie Greenland.

Imagine if Finn beat them all to the prize next season?

Gwin looking hot in qualifying wow. Loic back as well... gonna have to hide my social media apps on my phone so I don't spoil results while out riding. Watching the race with post ride beers is gonna be an awesome afternoon tomorrow.

I agree that Loris is the next likely first time winner. I think it will take Finn another year to get there although he will probably bag a podium in 2018.

Poot Gwinn, having to ride those slower 650b wheels.

Props to Warner and Claudio for being fans of the sport this time.

Gwinn is silly.

Is it just me or did Gwin & Hart have an awkward, icy glance to each other when they shook hands on the podium?
I was hoping Lucas would take his first win.

They were probably wondering why Lucas was celebrating like he'd won the lottery after being schooled by the pair of them. I would have certainly kept my celebrations more low key.

Warner and Claudio are beginning to annoy me and I've been a fan of Warner since the early days. Some of the comments and questions just seem dumb, probably having to play to any new watchers of the sport but they could dial it back a touch IMO.

Yeah Gwin and Danny's runs were especially nuts. Knowing that Gwin didn't have clear vision for most of that run makes it even more impressive. Rachel's save through the rocks after the drop was also a sight to see. In the slow-mo you can see the loose rock she hits:

Agree with Lucas celebrating, yeah he's had a long rough patch so he should be stoked for a podium but it's like Alex Fayolle in Lourdes -- not the same race.

Holy feck that Val Di Sole track looks rough, judging by Claudio's course preview. Nasty tumble he took.
