just checking to see if anyone is still about. looks like it's going to be a tight ripper of a season, and we've got 29er's to keep things interesting on the technological front. stoked, am i.

I couldn't say who the fave is this season. Will Hart continue his winning ways? Always hard to bet against Gwin. Minaar of course is always in there. Looking forward to Lourdes & Claudio's course preview.

I kind of want Minnaar to win Lourdes on the V10 29'er just for the lulz and butthurt in the comments section on the other bike website :)

le sigh. though cool that wallace snagged his first podium despite the attenuating circumstances. perhaps this will provide the mental motivation to step up his game. on to ft bill! based on the commentary chatter, it seems likely we'll see more big wheelers rolling there. looking forward to the dramas.

Agreed. Was good to see Wallace podium. That was it though. I realize that's racing, but that is not the way these guys want to win. I would like to see a delay of some sort Put in place by the Uci when the weather gets shitty. It was two separate races yesterday!

I agree & also disagree. It was 2 separate races yesterday, but that is racing. I don't discount the podium winners, cause they had to put in a good run to be there. Fayoll's run was very good. Stoked to see Wallace up there. Conditions must have been terrible. The top guys looked like they had never ridden a bike.

i imagine the redbull live broadcast schedule eliminates any timing flexibility.

Lourdes was the last podium that Stevie was on (also in 2nd), so it was awesome to see Mark Wallace up there regardless of the circumstances.

It was really anti-climatic the way it turned out. There was so much hype and so many story lines with all the top contenders healthy and fast, the V10 29'ers, team changes etc. Did they change anything with the timing of races? Something with the juniors/women maybe?

I heard there was an hour break between the women's & men's races. Don't know if that's normal or not, but perhaps they could have moved it up knowing a storm was rolling in? Edit; Bruni is pissed about it on twitter.
