Minnaar (like Nico) is clever. It's a rare thing in DH racing and the reason why they're still kicking the ass of the "just smash it" kids.

That was a great race to watch. Minnaar is amazing, so smooth with such a big margin. If he keeps going at this level for another few seasons he could finish with low 20's WC wins.
Finn Illes won juniors by a large margin as well. Two WC entries and two wins with an injury in the other race.
Awesome tributes to Stevie Smith all around, Minnaar especially classy with the Chainsaw flag on the podium and jersey patch.

I think UCI changed the rules this season for DH so that riders can wear individual kit to represent their personal sponsors, so Syndicate is a trade team again and people can have their own look. Pretty cool.

I thought he was 16 but he must be 17 now as UCI DH seems to require age 17 to compete. Not sure how since he was 14 when he won whip-offs at August 2014 Crankworx?

I had planned to get up early Sunday and watch the entire race before driving to Whistler, but slept in and only had time for the women's so I had to stay off the social medias all day to avoid spoilers. Managed to catch the men's race with a few beers last night and wow, super entertaining riding.
Gwin is just ridiculous and back on another level, I wonder if he will pass Minnaar for total wins sooner than later. I was stoked to see Vergier up there as well as Kerr's best ever result (love his style). Other highlights were Fearon's scrub over the drop and Sik Mik's no hander over the finish jump.
Is there any video coverage of juniors? Would love to see Finn's runs. Congrats to Forest as well who seems to be consistently qualifying and hanging around top 50 on the new bike this year.
