Shame there wasn't a speed trap at the finish of stage two. I bet I flew by it at at least 30kph

BUmpity. Fiver race tomorrow. Bring your snorkel!

I vote double fees ($10) due to racing in the mud and causing some trail erosion, rather than cancelling the event and not making any money.

Fuck it, I'm going to try and go anyhow.Just need to double up on the cold medicine, ice my knee, and pretend it's not muddy and cold lol. Gonna be great. :D I haven't been in town for one of these in years. My Hawaii riding gear is going to do me all kinds of good out there.

Nobl will be there doing demo's I believe? Also couple others- Scott, Trek maybe?

Forecast says rain stops by 8am Thur, if that helps in some way.

Trails will still be wet, but I'm seeing clearing weather for the afternoon/evening. It should be pleasant enough out there.

I rode the course last night in the pouring rain;

Incline/Pingu - no issues. Most of the jumps/wood on Pingu are taped off. Drainage is in good shape
Asain - no issues - minor puddling, but the trail was tacky. C-buster start woodwork is slick
Applicator/Blair Range - Applicator is an old-school fall-line trail. Lots of erosion, roots are slick, bouncy ride.

So if there was any kind of cancellation - I could see the third stage being punted rather than the full race.

Oh yeah? Including the big wedge on the right along the straightaway? Too bad; that thing sets you up for a nice fast line.

Yes I taped off the big wedge, landing short on those roots when wet would not be good.

There was very very little puddling last night when out taping the course. I don't feel there will be any unnecessary impact from last nights rain.

Fair enough! Looking forward to tonight.

Lee and I aren't concerned with Asian Adonis/Cbuster in the race. It was raced on last Saturday during the MEC Bike Fest in the rain! We're up there regularly dealing with drainage.

We fixed this lake that formed over last winter.

Thanks to the guys that weren't racing who stopped to lend me a pump when I flatted on the first stage.:clap::clap:

You weren't the only one. Saw a lot of people flatting up there.

Thanks to all the organizers, volunteers, and burger flippers for the great race!

Excited for the Fiver this week. I can't seem to find the course - has it been posted yet?

Nothing finalised yet but apparently Severed and Salamander are going to be in it.

I'll have it up soon. Waiting on final land manager approval on a stage.
