the new season is upon us already! i'm stoked. though i prefer the super knar tracks, pietermaritzburg brings out some neat tech weenie alternative bike options. should be an interesting start; smith sidelined, minnaar coming back from injury, gwinn should be hungry, hill seems to be on an uptick (though this isn't his track), gee will be angry… should be fun.

bryceland's backup nomad (he says he'll probably use the v10):

Funny those guys love the High Roller 2 over the DHR2 and Minion. Always see their bikes with HR2s. I found the DHR2 to roll much faster and offer better cornering support while the HR2 was good for loose conditions but rolled slower and doesn't offer the same sturdy sideknobs.

maybe when one is at WC level speeds an air cushion develops around the knobs reducing the drag?

Be interesting to see how the youth does this season with the more seasoned racers healthy this season

Why slag free swag?

apparently they're filming for Redbull this year at all the wc's, so you'll still get your 12 minute edits of 600 fps super slow-mo.

It will be interesting to see Gwinn, all the talk is about Minaar on top of the timed practice, but Gwinn has a faster first split by 2 seconds and also had the fastest speed trap.

Didn't Gwin have a few good quali runs last year only to have issues come race day(those issues being not winning)?
