How hard core are these? Are there a lot of lower level people coming out for the experience and good time, or are they of a more serious nature that supports the depth of racers that are locals to this area? considering a few of the dates.

WTF, Over?

Those who want to go fast get to the top of the hill first, and those who want to cruise and have fun (who make up the majority of the racers) just go about it at their own pace. Great atmosphere, and as noted, non-intimidating. The courses are announced in advance and it's a good idea to go check them out in the week prior to the race.

The atmosphere of the Toonies is inclusive, the trails are chosen to meet a broad spectrum of riders. The most challenging trail last year by a long shot was Ladies. The Big Stupid wooden feature was flagged off and not used. Plenty of people coming out to just ride with friends and not so worried about the timing and racing.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I was not worried about being intimidated or scarred off. I am sure there is entry caps and im not about taking away a spot from serious series of races from some one who could benefit from the race laps.
I hope to check out a few this year, at least to get the 411 on some trails i may have not done. And get the good vibe that is conveyed by the responses here.

Shirk, will they at least divulge which shore mountain will be on tap each race?

Last year only a handful of riders did all 6 of them, so no worries about taking someones spot in the cap of riders.

More details once we line up a few more things. Thing fun, social, community building series, not hard core racing.
