Props to all the clubs, volunteers, organizers and racers for making the Island series what it is!

LOL raining like a mofo right now. Not racing was the right decision! See you at Hammerfest!

I think you know what I mean. I guess you should have raced if it "didn't rain that much"

Being serious for a minute - I haven't ridden enough and the result of injury from a crash (i.e. fucking my back) isn't worth the risk.

and I'm glad I didn't have to race in the rain!

Weather looks really good for this coming weekend.

Arrowsmith MTB Club hosts the first of back to back weekends with the DH this Sunday May 22nd.

http://www.islandcupseries.com/index.php/2011/hammerfest-dh-3-may-22nd/

Thanks to the landowners we're able to have the race. As of about a month ago, there was no more road and no more DH.

We only have gate access on the Sunday for the race so any pre-race course inspection will be self propelled only.

See you Sunday!

See you Sunday!

Some cool buffing of the course since my ride there last week
Lots of people out "self propelling" today

Unlike Port last weekend, I'm not expecting a rainfall and flood of biblical proportions (unless of course the rapture actually kicks in)

Leatt brace 2. Ground 0.

Rider was responsive and safely transported to hospital. Thanks for all the volunteers who came to his aid.

Have to say two major crashes could have been much worse were it not for both riders wearing a Leatt Brace.
