Well, it's the whole "look at me and my ego" aspect of the WORLD RECORD JUMP!!!!!

If you're having fun, then cool. But it's not really a record bike jump. It's a record tow in jump, and if you want it to be a real record then I guess it's gotta be something like 300 feet and change for it to count.

Those other types have a point about the cliff hucks too. So many guys do the plop and stop (snow sports too). It's not really mountain biking. Throw the same air as part of a continuous run - a la Rampage style - and now its biking. Just like that guy who fell off the 240 foot cliff on skiis. He didn't stick the landing, therefore its no record. Some chick falls out a plane at 30 000 feet and lives, now THAT'S a record.

Fonzie jumped a shark, now look at him……..

So if there was a 23092390234093290329km long steep hill, and someone coasted their MX bike down it, and then flew 100 ft off a jump, you'd consider it a new mountainbike distance record?

When you control a bike in the air, it has nothing to do with how you got the speed to be in the air.

That being said, tow ins are lame. So are world record distance jumps. But again, at least this guy didn't call up Redbull, and have 2390832982393 cameras on him.

I hate gnarwhale.com a lot.

bike mag sucks, so do one footers

i think your just jealous

Why all the hate on the world record attemps? First off who cares if hes getting towed in, makes it even crazyer that hes going 80 mph with one hand on the bar. Also it is a world record, mountian bikes are differnt than motocycels thats obvious to anyone, and if thats not a mountain bike he is riding than what is it? I think its you haters that have the ego problem becuse hes making the jumps your hitting look small.

If it's not mountain biking why is it on this site then? Pretty plain english what NSMB stands for. Parks should be left to us on boards. As far as my newbie status I've been here about 5 years longer then you have

how would you know. maybe i changed my account like you did. cause it says youve been here since 04

I hereby proclaim this post to be where the thread officially went to shit. thanks allex.

I troll shitty posters like yourself, because it's amusing to watch you skidmarks get all riled up.

Some chick falls out a plane at 30 000 feet and lives, now THAT'S a record.

funny you mention that :)

Name: Vesna Vulovic
Place: Serbska Kamenice, Czechoslovakia
Date: January 26, 1972
Length of fall: 33,300 Feet

More: When a Yugoslav DC9 exploded in mid air, as a suspected result of a terrorist bombing, Vesna Vulovic plummeted over 33,000 feet to land on a snowy slope.

Vesna Vulovic was paralyzed from the waist down, but later recovered and was able to walk. She was the only survivor and holds the record for the longest fall.

really makes a 240something foot fall, headfirst, into 6 feet of powder seem like nothing huh :)

dear DW,
since you got like a million bucks now, can i borrow $2850 for a Revolt frame?

thanks,
steve
