You may know the name Mike Zinger from some of the photography he has put up on these boards over the years. He recently got himself a new camera with video capability, so I took him out to test his video skills.

Enjoy

I can judge how good one of these videos are in the first 40 seconds by a number of staples…sarcasm on….

1. Did it show the rider putting his bike on the car, possibly with an attempt at artsy shot from ground level or something.

2. Did it show the rider driving to the spot. Time lapse trip, or driver close up, or some other artistic attempt.

3. This is crrritical. Did it show the rider putting on his/her gear. What little film DOESN'T have this? It's important to know how they get dressed. It can and will affect their riding.

4. This is open to the filmer here. Shots of the rider cruising pavement, shots of mist, clouds, ghey, forest, shovels, tools. All will work to fill in that extra time needed to address point 5. Extra points for filming the car more. Reflections, etc.

5. Did the video have at least 40 seconds to 1:30 of no real bike riding at the start? 2:00 is the holy grail here. Fuck it, go straight for 3:00. Like mens razor blades. The more the better.

This video only made it to 18 seconds before some real biking. Shame on you. ;)

Cool vid, I enjoyed it.

that made me want to walk out on work today and go ride my bike

maybe, but what it doesn't make me want to do(and I'm sorry I have to be the asshat to say this)

It sure doesn't get me stoked to grab my shovel and rake and go get on some spring trail work.

Other than that, nice vid
