Vedder Ridge was just phenomenal this weekend. Not wet and not dusty dry. The group was huge, 4 Toyota[HTML_REMOVED]#8217;s 2 Nissans and 2 Jeeps were the shuttle machines of the day.
The scary moment of the day came when Sir Simon went for the 38-foot gap and came up short and to the left. He clipped the cribbing with a pounding thud. Most of us though he was done for! Sir Simon popped up instantly laughing. There were a lot of sighs of relief. To our amazement, after lunch at the bottom and few minor mechanical tweaks, he was good for another lap.
I found it almost impossible to set up for stills, so I shot video all day. If I keep this up I will have to get a real video camera and stop using my digital still machine.
