Here are a few panoramic photos I shot at this year's Test of Metal and Rockstar Downhill. All the the photos are 360-degree panoramic photos, and if you view them on my web site you can look at them in a 3D virtual reality environment where you can click and drag on the image to look around. Follow the links to see each photo in my web site, or check out my listing of my photos from the event here:

Thanks for all the comments. I've been experimenting and learning to shoot panoramas for about two years now, and am really excited about the potential you have to show someone what it's like to BE there, a way more immersive experience than anything else I've ever seen, and becoming way more accessible.

If anyone's around in Squamish shooting or sessioning something cool, and wouldn't mind another spectator, I'm always keen to get out and play around.

I do use a fisheye, and these are actually multiple fisheye images stitched together ( [HTML_REMOVED]= 6 ). Sometimes I use a regular wide angle as well, and you can actually create images like this with just a simple point and shoot camera as well, it would just be much more time consuming and tedious.

These photos have such strange perspective because they are actually covering a horizontal field of view of a full 360-degrees, basically a spherical image that's been unwrapped like a map.

I have an old page on one of my really old web sites that has a bit of an explanation with some images illustrating how I create these panoramas:
