Thanks Nechako!! :)

That Corrado is Nathaniel's car, he's one of the trail builders with me.

If anyone has a VW by the way, you can come to the meet on Sundays at 7pm at the Tim Hortons on Main street accross the street from Cove bikes :rocker:

Back when I had my Super Beetle, I wanted a Corrado so bad. That one looks really rad. Settled for a rusted out Mk II Golf with silly wheels instead :( Currently rocking a plain-jane stock Mk IV Golf now but can haul three bikes and riders with gear, or a family of four which works for life at present. Anything show worthy is in the distant future. Thanks for the pics.

One thing I miss is waving with VW drivers on the road. Used to be only air-cooled folks would drop a hand, but I'm sure older water-cooled cars are getting friendlier. Don't get any waves in the stock Golf or my wife's Flex either. Go figure…

I try and wave to others when I spot them and if they look like they would wave back :)

Looking at the VW's in this thread makes me want to insure my old mk2 Jetta for the summer. It has been sitting for a year or two but as of today was stinking up the yard and burning some old gas. :D

I removed the rusted out muffler and converted it to a side exhaust with a bit of cutting and welding. It has a Harley-ish tone to it now.

hey james, is that demented irony's passat? how do you like the look of his new wheels?

i might have to come out to one of these things too.

We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.

I love my GTI, especially since I got the engine remap on it

Doesn't have quite the same cool factor as a Mk1 though, does it.

If by demented irony you mean Dallas then yes! And I love those wheels!

Come out for sure! We can never have too many people!!

And Dan! Nice GTI! What did the remap do to the engine?

Allegedly bumps it up to 250HP / 300ish ft lb of torque. Makes the stock settings feel really sluggish!

Off topic but slightly related

I took my road test in one of these 1986 Sirroco. Good memories, thanks for bringing that memory forward!
